Next Generation Yoga is an approved 95-hour Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS) through the Yoga Alliance Organization.
Yoga Teachers registered with the Yoga Alliance as an active 200-hour RYT may earn their specialty designation as a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) by completing Next Generation Yoga’s 95-hour Teacher Training program.
We offer a flexible format, which allows you to attend one course at a time in a variety of locations and a 95-hour Teacher Training Immersion one time a year.

Since 2015, Next Generation Yoga® is an approved 95-hour Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS) with Yoga Alliance. We meet all the criteria and regulations required to certify those interested in becoming a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT).
In order to become a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) and accredited with Yoga Alliance, you need to have your 200 hour certification as an Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). If you are currently not an RYT but complete the NGY 95-hour school, and in the future take a 200 hour RYT training, you can backfile your hours with Yoga Alliance and become an official RCYT.
No! However, completing 95-hours of training exemplifies your dedication and qualification for teaching Kids Yoga. You will become an expert in Kids Yoga with NGY’s 95-hour School. It is up to the studio, school or employer to discern whether or not they will hire an instructor with or without an RCYT accreditation. Most often it is not required.
With a specialty designation in teaching kids we want to make sure you are above and beyond prepared to teach Kids Yoga and therefore provide additional hours. This is for your benefit as you will be ready to confidently teach a wide range of populations in a variety of professional settings.
While we do try to offer the convenience of combined trainings and immersions,, you all NGY Teacher Trainings can be taken “a la cart” which allows you to take one training at a time in different cities throughout the world. Upcoming trainings can be found on the NGY Teacher Training schedule page.
We get it! This Yoga Alliance stuff can be confusing so we are happy to answer any questions you have about attaining your RCYT with NGY’s 95-hour Yoga School. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] or 866-NGY-YOGA.
