Wednesday Walk ~ A Quote That Inspires Me

Happy Wednesday Friends!

On today’s ‘Wednesday Walk’, I share a quote by Mary Oliver that has served as my mantra for the past week: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild & precious life?” This quote is so powerful because it reminds me that as far as we know, we only get this ONE chance to live, so we might as well live BIG and pursue our dreams.Β It also reminds me to stay true to my vision for the future and take action on the things I want to create in my life. Check out my ‘Wednesday Walk’ to learn more about how important it is to stay committed to our dreams and take action on the things we want to create in this one precious life that we have been gifted.

I would love to hear from you. So tell me, what is it you plan to do with this one wild & precious life of yours? Please leave a comment on the blog so we can all learn from you!

All love,

Hi Jodi: As usual, you pose great questions and set me to pondering. The key word in the quote for me is “Precious”. To know that I am precious and that I can have a precious life has escaped me until recently when I began to look within the childhood shame that caused me to trade in my soul for survival tools which quickly became anchors around my neck. My reactive behavior pattern is to go underground rather than to act out, so I’ve been living in the dark for a long time – my choice. Now through awareness and teachings including Paul Ferrini and Brene’ Brown, I am loosening the grip of shame and it’s hand maiden “Co-dependency” and discovering the preciousness within and without. Whole new ballgame and indeed a genuine rather than contrived “Wildness” is beginning to emerge – the real me is showing up to be rather than do and be very aware of my responsibility to be gentle with myself in all ways at all times – reaping a benefit of gentleness to all there is and is not. Peace and blessing my sister!

    Dear lovely Jodi,
Your this weeks video reminded me this psssage from Bhagavadgita:
21- According to whichever demigod – representing a form of Me – a particular devotee desires to worship faithfully, I, as the Supersoul dwelling within his heart, make his faith strong for the deity of his choise.
22- After being endowed with this firm faith by Me, such a devotee goes on worshiping the deity of that demigod, and gains all his desired objects from that deity. Certanily this is enacted by My sanction alone, since I am the Supersoul situated within the heart of the demigod also.
23- But the fruit obtained by those provivcially interested worshipers of the various demigods is temporary. They reach their respective gods, but My devotees obtain Me.
    Bhagavadgita- 7/ 21-23

Yes, what you point out is very important: what do we want and plan? Because whatever we want from the core of our hearts is being realized with the grace of God. This is the rule… We need to belive this. And the “Question” is “What we want?”
Thank you ver much for your very precious efforts.
    With love and light,
