This is Next Generation Yoga Advanced Teacher Training. 

Building on the basics, this 25-hour Advanced Kids Yoga Teacher Training gives experienced kids yoga and mindfulness teachers an opportunity to build their confidence, skills, and business mindset through creative and pragmatic methods that help create more meaningful experiences for children.

As an NGY Advanced Teacher Training student, you’ll receive a helpful manual full of ideas to add to your yoga and mindfulness offerings as well as engaging exercises for self-reflection and program/business development and growth. Our team of NGY trainers share from their years of experience in the kids yoga business and there is ample opportunity for interaction between participants to share collective wisdom.

  • Yoga philosophy for kids—the yamas, niyamas, and chakra theory presented in practical, down-to-earth, inclusive, and school-friendly ways
  • Business development—how to cultivate partnerships, collaborations, and connections, and how to vision and dream for your future
  • Teaching in creative locations—schools, hospitals, libraries, camps, religious communities, and more
  • Tools for your toolbox—games, songs, and resources to help expand your creativity 
  • Effective communication, including electronic and online strategies (social media/newsletters/blogs/vlogs/YouTube channels)
  • Kids and trauma—the prevalence, how yoga helps, developing trauma resilience 
  • Meditation, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning—what these hot topics are and how they benefit your classes and students

  • Working with atypical students and coping with classroom challenges
  • Self-care for helping professionals—why it is important and how to prioritize it

Participants will meet on Zoom, a web-based video conference service. It is free and your Trainer will provide a link to the virtual “room.” If you don’t have video capabilities, you can join by phone.

This course is taught to you “live” and online. That means our master trainers will be leading you through the course during a specific time and you’ll have the chance to actively participate as well as interact with your fellow trainees. You’ll be able to see and hear other like-minded people from around the world – how cool is that!?! While we do encourage being available to participate in the live classes and discussions, if you need to miss, all sessions are recorded and will be available for you to download and watch later.

1-2 hours of coursework outside of class time can be expected each week.

Yes! Upon completion you’ll receive an Advanced Kids Yoga Teacher certification.

Yes! This training will count as 25 hours towards YA’s 95-hour RCYS training requirements requirements.

In light of COVID-19, Yoga Alliance has made a temporary provision to allow its schools to offer contact hours in a virtual format through September 30, 2020. During this time online training hours will count as full contact hours through Yoga Alliance & the NGY 95-hour Yoga School.

Meet your lead trainer, Rachel Glowacki, E-RYT

Rachel has been teaching kids yoga since 2009 and is known as a thought leader in the kids yoga field. She hopes that one day mindful movement will be taught regularly in schools like math and science! Rachel is a yoga teacher and writer, has presented at the National Kids Yoga Conference two times, has authored the first kid yoga app for the iPad, and has developed multiple kids yoga curriculums and trained hundreds of kids yoga teachers. Next Generation Yoga offers Yoga Alliance approved trainings and is an approved Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS). Current yoga teachers registered with Yoga Alliance as 200 hour RYTs are eligible to earn a 95-hour specialty designation of Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) when they complete the required Next Generation Yoga Teacher Training curriculums.
