Wednesday Walk ~ Fear Into Courage

On today’s ‘Wednesday Walk’ I am coming to you from a water park in Florida! I share with you how I went on a super scary water slide despite being filled with fear … but I did it anyway. Sometimes in life, whether it is a water slide ride, ending a relationship, or starting a new business, we are filled with fear but we embrace courage & do it anyway. Check out my ‘Wednesday Walk’ for inspiration on tapping into your courageous side, even when you’re afraid.

I would love to hear from you. How do you face your fear? What are some things in your life you were afraid to do but you did anyway? Please leave a comment on the blog so we can all learn from you!

    Hi Jodi
    Love your pure Joy!
    Good for you~
I too went on a scary water ride at Disney Splash Mountain and I held onto my husband and my son and closed my eyes and did it! Felt so freeing after and before I went on I prayed and as our son asked me if I was going on it I could sense he really wanted me to and so I did.I am so happy I did! I pray to the Holy Spirit to help me through my fears ~

This couldn’t have come at a better time! I am filming two yoga videos in a few days for my website. It’s restorative and then a yoga nidra so I am not accustomed to teaching this style. I had arranged for a colleague to teach it but she’s probably not going to be able to do it. It was hard for me to get through my practice last evening because my monkey mind kept saying “How are you going to possibly learn a restorative sequence and go through it confidently for video ? Ugh. I spewed my angst to my yoga teacher, Leanne, who was clearly busy but who took the time to empower me. I woke up fresh and clear on what I could do.
The scariest thing I’ve ever had to do is to tell my husband that he had cancer and then the kids. Fear continued to creep in every time we sat waiting news of a new scan and we would have to report new bad news to the kids and family members. It all came to a head when we met with the hospice social workers and the kids to talk about what life would be like after Dad was gone. It was tragic and scary all wrapped into one poo-poo box. If I can get through all of this, I can teach a restorative yoga video confidently!!

    Hey JoJo,
We are in the process of adopting a baby (yes, we are!) and I am so SUPER scared about it! Whenever I think about it, my thoughts drift to worry – what if the baby is autistic, what if he or she comes with issues that we would not have had to face if we didn’t adopt? (Knowing full well that this has nothing to do with adoption, but just the fear of bringing a new child into the family, even if it were growing in my own belly). So….with your wisdom, I will face this fear and open up to the love and joy that another child will bring to our family regardless of what else comes with that. Thank you my friend <3
