Wednesday Walk ~ Hold Sweet Space

Happy Wednesday Friends!

On today’s ‘Wednesday Walk’, I share the importance of holding space for someone who is in need. In the home stretch of my move, I experienced a challenging situation that brought up many emotions for me. When my storage container was delayed longer than planned, I found myself so full of frustration and anger that I got emotional and freely expressed it to the representative that I spoke to on the phone. All the while that I was yelling and upset, this sweet woman compassionately held space for me and respected my need to express myself in a very human way. It was her patience, compassion and ability to hold space for me that grounded me and allowed me to move through what I needed to more quickly. Check out my Wednesday Walk to hear about the situation that taught me the importance of holding sweet space for someone.

I would love to hear from you. Have you ever been in a situation where you compassionately held space for someone in need? Have you ever been the person who is in need of that from someone else? How did that support you in your process? Please leave a comment on the blog so we can all learn from you.

all love,

( post the music info! )… At Seduction of Spirit last week, while volunteering, a woman expressed her frustration about not having her needs met by us, the volunteers. As we remedied the situation, we were frustrated with the outpouring against us. My thought…she was in pain. Sure enough, the next day she was full of apologies, and expressed that so much had come up for her…..I was so grateful for my own awareness of the pain coming up, and simply holding space for others! That is a new behavior for me: to let go of others’ pain, to listen, to respond in a positive manner, to be comforting. Grateful for your post! Never underestimate the stress, from the good and the bad, in moving!

    YaY! Jodi,

Yeppers, the awareness that we can hold space for others is huge, and as we practice this, we move the world closer to world peace.

We are One. We have the ability to hold a space for others for healing in all its forms: balance (grounding and expansion), harmony, compassion, tolerance, patience, softness, strength, etc.. And what we recognize as needed adjustments in others is usually what we need to fine tune in ourselves.

In our daily practices we can set the intention to breathe, move, smile, and laugh with and for those who are navigating challenges. Opening ourselves to hold this space is a special gift which moves us hand in hand with others toward enlightenment.

I remember the first time I became aware of this sacred space while leading a group in Qigong. I was overwhelmed with the infinite possibilities for healing for everyone and the real possibility for world peace.

The Universe is pretty darn Wise having designed things The Way It has…ha ha.

    woo hoo!

So grateful for you, Jodi, and all you are…
