Partner Yoga

In most kids yoga classes we do poses on our own mat, in our own space, with our own body. Partner Yoga is a wonderful change where we share space, stretches & energies and some may even prefer it. Here is a complete video with specific poses & good practices for partner yoga with kids of all ages & stages.

Please leave a comment & share this video if you feel inspired.

Thank you, much love!

Thanks for sharing such wonderful insight with us Jodi. Partner Yoga for kids seems to be a great way to get kids connected to that deeper part of yoga, beneath the physical practice, into practicing compassion. Beautiful! Thanks so much for all your work in the world! I can’t wait to share some of these with my kids and students.

Great stuff Jodi…I love how you have them ask permission before touching their partners’ shoulders. Something we’ve been stressing with Denver (3) is that he is the “boss of his own body.” Not only is this idea important for children who are hyper or hypo sensitive to touch, but also for awareness around caregivers and potential child sex offenders. Was never really conscious of this but we took a course and the numbers are startling…

dear Jodi, How beautiful. Thank you I have been receiving emails from you but this is the first time I’ve seen and listened to you. You have a lovely style Very calming and accepting I have been doing yoga and dance with children with autism for the past 3 years. I look forward to adapting some of this with them. I also teach a middle school class and am going to do some of this right away. I’ve already done a little partnering with them and I was surprised at how much they like it- both in yoga and in dance. I would love to do some training with you at some point. Also, can you tell me the artist and song at the end of the video? warmly, Lucy Rosenblatt

Thanks for making this video, Jodi. I really enjoyed hearing how you orchestrate a kids partner yoga class. I’m teaching kindergarten yoga all next semester at my daughter’s school and will no doubt bring in partner yoga, thanks to you.
