I hope this finds you well and enjoying your beautiful life. This past weekend in the US we celebrated Memorial Day in honor of the Veterans who fought for our country’s freedom. It is a beautiful, meaningful holiday and is also the informal start to our Summer season. Summer, as you know, is the time of the year that most everyone looks forward to. It’s when many will slow down with work, take a break from teaching, go on vacation and enjoy fun outdoor activities. And while I am all in favor of time off, recharging, festival fun, family and friend adventures and radical rest – I also know that as a successful Yoga entrepreneur, my business requires my attention all. Year. Long.
This is a good thing and I have learned how to make the most out of my Summer.
What’s great about Summer is that while many kids, families and schools (our primary clientele) are slowing down and going on vacations, it gives us (Kids Yoga entrepreneurs) the possibility of taking time off from working so hard in our businesses and get productive, working on our businesses. Simply said, we can back off of teaching so many classes and focus on creating those things we don’t typically have the time for, like plan new workshops, build a website, make marketing materials, start-up projects, develop products, write contracts, organize finances or just put better systems in place. What if we made the most out of this summer and worked with spaciousness? What if we used this summer for strategizing and marketing so that we are ready to rock the school-year ahead? What if we made the most out of this Summer with smart business planning?
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying to not relax or play this Summer, rather set yourself up for success by doing some things and putting some pieces in place that your future self will thank you for.
Besides, I highly support working from the most inspiring environments this Summer.
Making work fun in the sun with my laptop … lakeside!
Now I get it, you probably don’t want to work that hard this Summer or maybe you are hustling with Kids Yoga Camps or you don’t feel like you have the time to dedicate because you have all those personal goals, too. And isn’t Summer when the livin’ is easy?! Yes, it is and so too can be your business. Especially when you have a coach on your side.
I am entering my 20th year in business with Next Generation Yoga. But even with this great milestone, there were times when I was working on and growing my business that I felt overwhelmed, scared and uncertain with low productivity. That my long to-do list never got done and my greater vision for what I truly wanted was blurry.
The truth is that we are relating human beings who need support in life and business. Personally, what I need in my business is accountability. Someone to help me create savvy goals that are right for me and my business. I need someone to learn from, to lean on and encourage me when I am low.
Yes, it’s way easier and more fun to teach Kids Yoga than do marketing, strategy and finances. But in order to be successful and earn the kind of living we want for ourselves – we need to pay attention to these things in biz. And the best news is that we don’t have to do it alone and it’s why there are people, like me, who have been where you are and are want to help you.
So if you …
- Need accountability
- Want to grow your biz but uncertain about what’s next
- Have goals but don’t know where to begin
- Feel overwhelmed, stuck or burnt out
- Have a new project/product/training you want to develop
- Are ready to up-level your game
- Or you’re are rocking it and know there is more to do
Until then, I am wishing you a fabulous end of the school year and an easy transition into Summer.
In support of you,
