Legendary! a Yoga + Mindfulness Lesson Plan for ages 2-12

All over the world and throughout history, humans have imagined legendary creatures such as mermaids, unicorns, trolls, and monsters. These creatures are found in myths, legends, and stories and help us with feelings of fear, courage, and hope. In Legendary, meet some of these mythical beings and experience their qualities for yourself!

Yoga poses, creative movements, meditation prompts, learning points, and breath exercises invite children to learn about Legendary creatures. Theme-specific tunes, options for family and partner poses, a guided relaxation activity, and ideas to extend the lesson’s fun are also included. This adventurous lesson plan can be used any time of the year!

This NGY Lesson Plan Includes:

  • An introduction to successfully sharing Kids Yoga with the children in your life, whether you are a parent, caregiver, a school professional, or an experienced or new Kids Yoga Teacher.

The NGY Yoga + Activity Cards for the Classroom were created to help improve the health and well-being of students and educators in the classroom environment but these activities can be practices anywhere, by anyone! They are easy to implement throughout the day, in any room or space. These cards will help students and educators to have fun and feel good, in their body and mind, while also cultivating a positive school culture.

While some card activities take as few as 1-2 minutes, others are suitable for longer experiences. You can combine cards to customize a lesson and create longer sequences that meets your students needs. All card activities can be adjusted to accommodate your students and your space.
