Why do you teach Next Generation Yoga?
Next Generations Yoga gives me the chance to shape, transform, and improve the lives of future generations. I hope to inspire and create a space for our youth where they are able to grow, learn, breathe, be playful, be mindful, and take care of themselves and others. Yoga can be something that is consistent in their lives.
How do you practice Yoga off of your mat?
Yoga affords me to the opportunity to indulge in self-love! To me, Yoga is all about self-love and if you practice it in other ways off your mat you are honoring yourself and your body. I try to listen to what I need in the moment and what others around me need as well. I want to share love, strength, and connection with those around me.
What do you do when you are not teaching NGY classes?
I am a lover of the outdoors! My passions include snowboarding, dirt biking, camping, hiking, and volleyball. I practice Yoga daily. I love spending time with my family and friends and I volunteer throughout the community. I work at a spa where I make people feel beautiful on the outside. Through teaching Yoga I am able to make people feel beautiful on the inside.
What is your special gift in connecting with children?
I hope to be the calm in their storm while I improve life at home, school, sports, and after-school programs. Life can be busy, wild, and fun. I hope to give children a break from the bustle of life for just a moment and give them the tools that allow them to check in with themselves and honor self-love.
