Why do you teach Next Generation Yoga?
I teach NGY because I want to offer children lifelong skills they can use to create their best life possible. Yoga has helped to transform my life in so many beautiful ways and the thought of being able to teach children such transformational information makes my heart happy.
How do you practice Yoga off the mat?
I practice Yoga off my mat by doing my best to honor my truth and be authentic. I do my best to be honest with who I am and how I feel, but allow myself freedom to grow and change and not be attached to how I might have felt in the past. I give myself freedom to be me and live. I do my best to practice Yoga on my mat each day and if I’m not able to, I throw a couple poses in periodically throughout the day so that I get some yoga in. I have fun with it and let it be whatever I can fit into my day, so that it can have flexibility and remain fun and not become an obligation.
What is your special gift in connecting with children?
My special gift in connecting with children is I have the spirit of a child. I enjoy laughing and being lighthearted and have that imaginative spark that children have. I love the playful innocence that children have and feel it’s important to preserve that and to help children to feel safe to play, be imaginative, have fun, and to just be a kid.
