Playful, Educational, and Enlivening

Using time-honored practices and modern techniques, teacher trainees learn to facilitate creative and educational experiences through a method that aligns with the developmental needs of children. No prior yoga experience is necessary; we will teach you what you need to know.

Next Generation Yoga (NGY) offers a variety of tools and strategies to empower you to create meaningful kids’ yoga and mindfulness encounters. Experienced trainers share their own passion for this work as they facilitate a fun and inspiring training curriculum. Trainees are given opportunities to observe, learn, and develop original strategies to bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to children.

What You Will Receive

  • Get a comprehensive kids’ yoga and mindfulness manual with resources for classroom success and business development.
  • Learn the benefits of yoga and mindfulness and the developmental needs and typical behavior of kids age 2 to 12.
  • Get instructions on how to plan, sequence, and execute exciting kids’ yoga classes and how to include fun extras such as art activities, music, props, games, breathwork, and relaxation techniques.
  • Learn tips on how to include learning points into your teachings in order to support kids’ educational experiences and invoke their natural curiosities.
  • Learn classroom management techniques for events such as when a child doesn’t want to participate. We will teach you how to change the energy level of a high-energy or low-energy class and to keep everyone safe in the classroom.
  • Get guidance on how to lead partner yoga to encourage opportunities for cooperation and communication between kids.
  • Get a chance to watch an experienced NGY teacher in action! Each of our training programs has observation classes led by the NGY trainer, so students get to see real kids in a live yoga class.

Upon finishing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion. You will also have the opportunity to become a licensed NGY teacher and reap the benefits of our unique NGY teacher community.
