In order to become a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT) and accredited with Yoga Alliance, you need to have your 200 hour certification as an Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). If you are currently not an RYT but complete the NGY 95-hour school, and in the future take a 200 hour RYT training, you can backfile your hours with Yoga Alliance and become an official RCYT.
No! However, completing 95-hours of training exemplifies your dedication and qualification for teaching Kids Yoga. You will become an expert in Kids Yoga with NGY’s 95-hour School. It is up to the studio, school or employer to discern whether or not they will hire an instructor with or without an RCYT accreditation. Most often it is not required.
With a specialty designation in teaching kids we want to make sure you are above and beyond prepared to teach Kids Yoga and therefore provide additional hours. This is for your benefit as you will be ready to confidently teach a wide range of populations in a variety of professional settings.
Once a year we offer a 95-hour Teacher Training Immersion where you can take all NGY trainings required to attain your RCYT. Visit the Next Generation Yoga Teacher Training schedule to find an upcoming Immersion. Outside of the 95-hour Immersion, we offer many NGY Teacher Trainings “a la cart” with a flexible format which allows you to take one training at a time in different cities throughout the world. Upcoming trainings can be found on the NGY Teacher Training schedule page.

“The training I received from Next Generation Yoga’s 95 hr school was comprehensive, energizing and inspiring. Nicole Koleshis is a master teacher with a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. The training and curriculum is pure gold and holds true to the legacy of yoga. It includes many applicable games, strategies, and lesson plans (plus, I even learned how to effectively run my own kids yoga biz!). I now feel prepared to teach a diverse population of children and families in a variety of settings. I highly recommend Next Generation Yoga if you are ready to get serious and have some fun enriching the lives of children and families through yoga!”
