On today’s ‘Tuesday Tip’ for The Biz of Kids YogaI share a great new technique I just began using called The Pomodoro Technique. I learned this method from Racheal Cook, who I am studying with, and just love how it has helped me to focus and be productive. We all know how easy it is to get distracted when you are trying to work or how we can work endlessly without a break. I used to sit down at the computer for hours and work, work, work until I was tired and hungry but still felt like I had not really finished what I set out to do.
The Pomodoro Technique solves that problem and best of all it is very easy to implement! Basically, you set a timer for a certain amount of time (for me it is 45 or 55 minutes) then sit down and work on one specific task. When the timer goes off, stop and take a quick break (for me it is 5 minutes.) Then set the timer again and go back to work. Simple as that! Using this technique has been so helpful to me and I bet it will be for you too! It allows us to be more laser focused on what we are trying to accomplish and get more done!
OK, Kids Yoga Teachers … now it’s your turn! Your action step is to get yourself a timer and go out and try The Pomodoro Technique! I know it will help to sharpen your focus so you get more accomplished!
