Reduce Stress During this Time of Year

I just got in from a much-needed walk around my neighborhood. The sun is shining here in Oakland and between the warm-ish weather and moving my body, my spirits were immediately lifted.

So many people experience stress and anxiety during this time of the year. Whether it’s from too much busy-ness, lack of business or any other known / unknown reason – we all have our own version, me included.

For Kids Yoga Teachers who are committed to the growth of their business, it can feel like an up-stream time of the year. Like you are trying to do your business as usual, but you’re getting lots of “no’s” or even lack of responses. That doesn’t ever feel good, I know.

Believe me, you are not alone, and with the holiday season in full effect, there are things you can do to stay positive, stress-free, calm and healthy. Here are a few suggestions that I highly recommend you take in to reduce your stress during this time of year.

Stay engaged. Even if many are focusing on other things right now, as a business owner, it would not make any sense for you to stop engaging. Absolutely you are entitled to time off, but be sure to continue with your social media, email newsletters and any promotions that you have upcoming for the new year. There are platforms and programs for scheduling your communications; If you aren’t sure which ones, just ask me! Really, truly, stay engaged! Just today I heard from two people in the Biz of Kids Yoga community who just by staying engaged, ie. sending emails to clients, they scored new teaching gigs for the new year. It’s possible!

Trust & remember. Not every month in your biz will be as slow or up-stream-like as December. Bring to mind your most profitable month/s this past year, and remember that what you have to offer is valuable and important. Trust that around the corner is a new month and a new year(!) and many people can hardly wait to start 2019 with your Kids Yoga services!

Work on your biz. These slower business days are the perfect time of the year to focus your attention on projects that may help propel your business forward. Actually, it’s prime time to vision and set goals for the year ahead. If you are unclear, overwhelmed and unsure where to begin and want the support of a mentorI’d be happy to talk with you about the possibility of supporting you.

Invest in yourself. I know that this time of year, with all the spending on others, can feel scary to invest in yourself. But, I believe it is the perfect time to treat yourself. Whether it is a lil overnight get-away (I am taking one next week with my bestie to Wilbur Hot Springs), a massage, membership to a Yoga studio or getting into the hands of a business coach, don’t wait. You are worthy and worth every cent! Besides, if it is a business expense, you can write it off for 2018!

Care for you! I mean this with the most sincerity – take care of yourself! Like really take care of you! Eat well, sleep more, drink water, move your body AND have healthy boundaries. If you ever start to feel heavy stress and anxiety, it’s likely a sign that you need to up your self-care. This is one of my favorite topics that I work with my Private Mentorship clients on because without it, we can not function at our highest.

So dear one, I hope these tips help you to know that you are not alone during this time of year, or ever. Your well-being matters and I am grateful for you. Thanks for reading this through.

In support of you!
Jodi
