July’s TBoKY ROCKSTAR: Dana Robinson

Each month we feature a ROCKSTAR for The Biz of Kids Yoga (TBoKY).
A TBoKY ROCKSTAR is a Kids Yoga leader who makes a unique impact
in their community.

Hey Dana, tell us about your Kids Yoga biz!
Sweet Feet Yoga (SFY) began in Iowa City, IA in 2006 with toddler and preschool Yoga, later adding classes for babies and teens, Prenatal Yoga and Teacher Trainings. Now located in Crytal Lake, IL (NW suburg of Chicago), we have weekly classes for babies through teens, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga Teacher Trainings for kids 6 weeks-15 years and a Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training. Our Mission at Sweet Feet Yoga is to inspire and empower kids and families in every stage of life, helping them to reconnect and truly be the best that they can be!

A TBoKY ROCKSTAR is committed to their Kids Yoga Biz with leadership and contribution to community … What makes you a TBoKY ROCKSTAR?
I love to connect with my community…near and far. Within the community, I connect with other like-minded local businesses to collaborate. Whether I work with a locally owned farm-to-table restaurant providing a Family Yoga class along with a locally grown meal or teach a Yoga class at the local toy store, I love to collaborate with others in the community. I also love to teach donation-based Family Yoga and Kids’ Yoga classes to raise money for non-profit organizations both near and far. I have been an Africa Yoga Project ambassador both with Team Next Generation Yoga, as well as the lead host along with my family (my amazing husband and 3 kids) for the 2015 Family Seva Safari in Kenya with AYP and Flying Kites Orphanage. I believe in leading by example for my kids and family, for my SFY teachers and trainees, and for everyone around me.

I also lead coaching calls for Sweet Feet Yoga trained teachers, leading them to build a solid foundation not just for their Yoga classes and businesses, but also in their personal life.

What are you currently most excited about in your biz right now?
Starting my Sweet Feet Yoga Foundation Calls (coaching calls) and Sweet Feet Yoga Minis with my kiddos!

What is a personal habit or resource that contributes to your success and that you would highly recommend to other Kids Yoga Teachers?
Finding balance (set aside teaching time, family time, and business time…clumping them together works for me), Accountability partner and coach, Jodi, and taking time for self-care.

How has The Biz of Kids Yoga influenced your business?
I loved participating in the The Biz of Kids Yoga™ Mastermind program, because it gave me accountability and a network of like-minded business-women to keep me focused and bounce ideas off of. They were all there with me during my tough move from Iowa to Illinois. These last 6 months with Jodi one-on-one have been amazing for the accountability, the focus and space to grow. Jodi is great at giving me that final nudge and encouragement that I need to launch projects that I have been dreaming about for years

How can people find and connect with you?
You can find me on FaceBook and Instagram. Email or FB messenger are the best ways connect with me, or through my website.
